TOPIC: The Cost Function of Value Engineering; How Cost Analysis and Management can get the most from VE

Bio of our Speaker:
George Obaranec, PE, CVS - Senior Certified Value Specialist

Mr. Obaranec leads the Value Engineering Services for Michael Baker International in Alexandria, Va. He has more than 18 years of Value Engineering (VE) experience, participating in 250+ VE studies as a team leader, facilitator, coordinator, and team member, primarily in the transportation field. His background includes 30-plus years of design and construction of civil, infrastructure and transportation projects. He facilitates and participates in VE studies throughout the country, having worked with more than 25 state transportation agencies. George is a National Highway Institute (NHI) certified trainer for their VE session that includes function analysis, cost estimating and life-cycle cost development and analysis. Currently, he serves on the SAVE International Board of Directors as Treasurer/Secretary. SAVE International is the global organization for value services, responsible for certifying value specialists. He is a graduate of Rutgers University College of Engineering in Piscataway, NJ.


Potential Joint Session with SAVE International or ASPE (American Society of Estimators).
